Commodore at Home Dinner Sept 30, 2017

Commodore at Home Dinner 2017 (the GYC Clubhouse)

This is a free event for GYC Members (including immediate family members ).

Members need to RSVP by the deadline of Monday September 25th, 2017 so that the Caterers can prepare a sufficient amount of food and manage the club’s cost as best as possible.

When you arrive please check-in at the downstairs entrance. Those that have asked for the Vegetarian meal will receive a ticket for your meal.

Note; Seating is limited so RSVP ASAP; for sure by the deadline of September 25.

Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017: Happy Hour at 6pm, Dinner at 7pm.

Catering by Caterpro

Menu: Roast beef dinner or Vegetarian alternative.

Please specify if you want the vegetarian meal when you RSVP.

Annual GYC Fishing Derby Sept 15

All Members Welcome – It’s time to show off your fishing skills….On September 15 and 16, 2017. The entry fee is $10.00 a person.

You can start fishing as early as you would like to on Friday night but the official weigh in starts at 8:00 pm and on Saturday at 11:00 am at the gas dock. All fish must be weighed by noon on Saturday.

All fish caught will be donated for the Fish Fry starting at 4:00 pm on Saturday (only Salmon or Trout accepted for the fish fry).

There will be a trophy for the largest fish and 1/2 the pot.
There will be another prize for most pounds per pole

Please bring either a salad or dessert to the fish fry.

PUMP OUT WORKING AGAIN

Hi fellow members,

We replaced 3 faulty solenoid valves and Jamie Harrison repaired a safety valve on our vacuum pump system and it appears to be functioning again!  I remind everybody to flush the system for a few minutes when you are done your pump out ( hose in the lake ) .  Thanks.

Full Member Application

There is one new application for full membership (to the “B” list) in the club.  Further to Article 2.2 d) and e) of the Club By-laws, Rules and Regulations notice of an application is to be made on this website and the Clubhouse Bulletin Board for a minimum of 30n days.  Members may communicate to the membership committee (membership@georgianyachtclub.com) or the Board prior to the September 5th Board meeting any relevant information a Member may possess regarding the applicant.

David Reitzel of Owen Sound, and sponsored by Mark Vincent and Steve Newell, was approved as an Associate member at the May 1, 2017 Board meeting.  David has a Grampian 26 sailboat.
