Sad News: Bert Porter Passed Away

Sad News: Larry Langlois Passed Away

Dear GYC MEMBERS,

It is with great sadness that I share the news that Past Commodore Larry Langlois passed away January 7th, 2018.

Dr. Peter Lawrence (Larry) – Passed away peacefully on January 7th in Hamilton, Ontario, under the care of the dedicated staff at St Joseph’s Hospital. Larry’s life work touched the lives of so many and included safely bringing thousands of new babies into the world in Owen Sound, Ontario during his 40 year medical career. His many passions included sailing Georgian Bay, hunting in western Canada, entertaining friends and family and cheering on his beloved Owen Sound Attack hockey team. He is survived by partner Carole Wilson (Osborne), Sons Jeff Langlois (Tracy), Bob Langlois (Deb) and Pete Langlois (Krista), daughter Lisa Wilson (Bernie), grandchildren Danielle & Christopher, Taylor, Charlie & Will, Rylan & Emileigh and Nikole & Noah. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Silvia). Predeceased by daughter Michelle Clelland (Bill). Friends and family are welcome to come remember Larry on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 7-9p.m. and January 11, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. at DODSWORTH & BROWN ANCASTER CHAPEL (378 Wilson St. E). A celebration of life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Thursday January 11, 2018 at 11.a.m. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada are appreciated.
