Fuel Dock and Pump out News
The Board of Directors has regretfully accepted the resignation of Director, Roger Martindill and thank him for his work in preparing the fuel dock and meeting with the Committee on April 30th regarding Safety and Fuel concerns. We wish him a good summer sailing.
The Board would like to announce the appointment of Steve Rouse as a Director. Steve will serve as the new director of Fuel Dock and Safety. Welcome Steve. We trust that the committee will provide you with full support as we move into our active season.
The Fuel dock will be open for pumping fuel starting Saturday May 14th at 8:00 am.
The pump out will be started up Sat 14th May and available only whenever the Fuel Dock is open until the water pipe is replaced. It is self serve.
Fuel Costs (post revised on May 6)
Everyone is concerned these days with the cost of fuel and serious discussions have taken place at the Board table.
In order to offset price fluctuations in tank fillings, the costs are routinely blended between the current and the newly filled tank.
Calculations over at least the last nine years indicate consistent financial losses for the club, seven out of nine years. By unanimous Board motion, for the beginning of the 2022 season, a blended price increase of two cents per litre will be factored in to members’ cost. This process will not cover the costs involved in all the club’s expenses to provide safe fuel handling.
Please consider your fellow members when determining the amount to fill in your vessel from the club tank at the first of this season.
The prices are calculated based on the information below.
Prices on the bottom line are when the Fuel dock starts up and lasts until the next filling of the clubs tanks:
The following calculations are provided to the Membership for complete transparency:
Nov 4 2021 Price to Members UNLEADED 1.54 DIESEL 1.38
Nov 4 2021 Volume in tanks UNLEADED 2504 L DIESEL 2935 L
Nov 21, 2021 New Fill Total cost UNLEADED 1607.89 DIESEL 1710.74
Nov 21, 2021 Volume Purchased UNLEADED 1058.4L DIESEL 1244.7L
UNTIL our Tanks REFILL- PRICE AT GYC in May :
UNLEADED $1.55 DIESEL $1.40
(The $1.55 and $1.40 are corrected calculations on May 6, 2022. Thank-you for your understanding)
