Full Membership Applications

There are three pending applications for full membership (to the “B” list) in the club. Further to Article 2.2d) and e) of the club By-laws, Rules and Regulations, notice of an application is to be made on this website and the Clubhouse Bulletin Board for a minimum of 30 days. Members may communicate to the membership committee (membership@georgianyachtclub.com) or the Board prior to the December 2, 2019 Board meeting any relevant information a Member may possess regarding the applicant.

Katherine Barton, sponsored by Becky Middlebrook and Paul Middlebrook. Katherine hopes to bring in her J 24.

James Blackwell, sponsored by Mark Prentice and Harry Hartrick. James hopes to bring in his 38′ Cruisers yacht.

Frank Solinger, sponsored by Mark Vincent and David Reitzel. Frank hopes to bring in his 32′ CNC corvette.

4. Edward (Ted) Noble of Owen Sound, sponsored by Tom England and Paul Beattie.  34′ power boat named Summer III

Peter Burrell of Tara, sponsored by Joyce Buckley and John Gilbert was approved as an associate member at the May 6, 2019 board meeting. Peter has a Grampian 26′ sailboat.
Gerald and Carol Overmars of Owen Sound, sponsored by Tom England and Joe Fryer, also approved as an associate member at the May 6, 2019 board meeting. Gerald and Carol have a 36′ sailboat.

Cory Coish of Owen Sound, sponsored by Joseph Fryer and Paul Livingston was approved by an associate member at the November 5, 2018 board meeting.  Cory has a Regal 28 (LOA – 31′) power boat.

Nick Sewell of Owen Sound, and sponsored by Harry Hartrick and Tom England, was approved as an Associate member at the June 4, 2018 Board meeting.  Nick has a Sun Dancer 300 power boat.

There are two pending applications for full membership (to the “B” list) in the club.  Further to Article 2.2 d) and e) of the Club By-laws, Rules and Regulations, notice of an application is to be made on this website and the Clubhouse Bulletin Board for a minimum of 30 days.  Members may communicate to the membership committee (membership@georgianyachtclub.com) or the Board prior to the Board considering these applications.  The 30 day notice period extends past the date of the next regular Board meeting on June 4th, after which the Board goes into “summer mode”.   As a result these applications may not be considered until the regular September Board meeting unless the Board arranges to meet during “summer mode”.

Ryan Carson of Owen Sound, and sponsored by Kevin Prentice and Mark Prentice, was approved as an Associate member at the May 7, 2018 Board meeting.  Ryan has a 41′ Sea Ray power boat.

Joyce Buckley, of Holland Centre, and sponsored by Roger Martindill and Tom England, was approved as an Associate member at the May 7, 2018 Board meeting.  Joyce has a 23′ Glander Cay sailboat.

DEAR GYC MEMBERS,

It is with great sadness that I share the news that recently resigned member: Bert Porter passed away on Wednesday morning, March 28, 2018.

On behalf of the GYC Board of Directors, I would like to extend sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Bert during this very difficult time.
