The Member search in the directory pages was only designed to find members by member name. It was not completely dumb: if you searched for “John” it would find Elton John, John Lennon or Boris Johnson.
But we saw members searching for members by boat name. Presumably they knew a boat name but not who owned her.
The logic will now search for either.
We also saw a member desperately searching for a boat by its dock. To implement this would be a bit more work. Is it something you need? Remember, if you know approximately where a dock is in the basins, you can use the dock mapping tool. Hover over the dock, left click. See here.
Three vessels made the trip to White Cloud Island on Sunday June 4th. Big thanks to the members that helped out. Harry and Irene Hartrick, Dave and Cathy Sykes, Ed Griffith, Brad Findlay and new committee member Scott Caple.
The crew performed tasks like cleaning picnic tables, delivering firewood, installing signage, and collecting legacy trash.

Tues May 30 Construction begins on Clubhouse
Starting this afternoon or tomorrow, DJ Peat will be starting work to refurbish the top of the clubhouse deck.
For safety of all and accessibility to the workers, please avoid the clubhouse worksite and avoid any parking underneath the deck and the close vicinity.
The mast racks will be moved soon to make space for your alternate parking during this period.
Please use good judgement when accessing the building and respect the cordoned off areas.
Work is expected to continue as late as into the end of next week, and will be followed up with the installation of railings, in time for Sailpast.

| Ahoy, GYC Members, There is a Change to Opening of the Gas Dock: Gas Dock will open Friday May 19th 2023 at 4pm. The pump-out will be available this Friday, May 12th. General cleanup will be done on Saturday, May 13. So whatever has names on it will be left. Everything else goes into the garbage. Come help if you can! Fair Winds. |
