GYC Gas Dock

Dear GYC members,

The fuel dock will be opening on May 27th 2020 and carrying Premium (ethanol free) fuel.

Payments can be made by e-transfer or cheque.

As previously mentioned, the washroom at the gas dock is open, and will be cleaned once a day.

There is disinfectant in the washroom.

We encourage all members to wash your hands to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Notice of AGM

Dear GYC Members,

As you are aware, we are trying our best to work through the challenges presented by COVID-19 this year.

In addition to COVID-19, we are facing another year of high water, and so we are planning to have a modified Annual General Meeting to allow your board of directors to move forward with these and other issues.

As it stands now, a traditional Annual General Meeting cannot go ahead due to government orders, and a virtual meeting with 50+ participants is not a viable option.

After much discussion, we have decided to have an online meeting with a limited number of participants, and the quorum being made up of proxy votes.

Attached is a copy of your Notice of AGM & Agenda, Motions to be made at this years AGM and Minutes from last year.

The Financial Statements Georgian Yacht Club Fiscal 2019 and the BDO Year-end Report 2019 are available on the website.

Your Proxy information will be sent in a separate email, requesting you to nominate Travis Low as your proxy vote and to authorize this by replying to secretary@georgianyachtclub.co

Launch is tentatively scheduled for May 23rd. This is contingent on government orders and our crane subcontractor. Further detailed information will be sent at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns please submit them to the board as soon as possible so they can be addressed before the AGM.

We appreciate your cooperation and support during this challenging time. Sincerely, Your Board of Directors

GYC Update

Dear GYC members,

The Board of Directors must adhere to the Government orders at this time.  We are deeply sorry it has been necessary to close the GYC and we truly appreciate the understanding by all the members.

The Board is trying to avoid any damage to boats and our property so checks are made 3 times per 24 hrs.  Otherwise, unfortunately, the property is off access to all members. This is a routine also being done at many other clubs and marinas.

It is not yet clear what is coming next or when, but if we are given the green light for launch,  we will then aim to get the cranes booked in order to allow enough time for everyone to get ready.

We are available for any urgent concerns or questions.  Commodore, Ann Hachey  Phone 519-371-1554    or Vice Commodore, Travis Low   Phone 519-374-1457.

Take care everyone.

GYC Closure

7 April 2020

GYC Members,

As a reminder, the premises and all operations on the property are closed.

Signs are posted.  Members are no longer to enter the property.  Clubhouse doors are locked down.

The water remains off.  All subcontracted services for the property are cancelled.

The boats and the property will be checked daily by a Member, as designated by the Board.

The grass will be cut.  Any essential property maintenance will be done.

Thank-you for abiding by this closure which has been mandated by the Ontario government per April 3rd. The Board takes no pleasure in this closure.

If you have any urgent concerns, please contact Commodore Ann Hachey.  Phone 519-374-1554

We will continue to keep you updated on changes as they arise.

Please stay home and be well,

The Board of Directors
