Dear GYC Members,
Please be advised of the following Gas Dock modified hours
Friday September 18th: 3pm-6pm
Saturday September 19th: 12pm – 4pm
GYC now has an Automated External Defibrillator located in a white metal box by the entrance to the women’s washroom upstairs at the club.
This is a device which is used to restart someone’s heart when they suffer a cardiac arrest and it can be used even by people with little or no training. The procedure is as follows:
1. If you find someone is collapsed then check that the scene is safe and shout for help and have someone call 911
2. Check pulse and breathing and start CPR if needed and have someone get the AED.
3. Remove the AED cover which requires a firm pull and press the “on” button. Apply the AED pads to a dry, bare chest wall as per the diagram on the pads. The AED will talk to you and take you through the steps.
4. Stand clear while the AED analyzes the heart rhythm. Follow the verbal instructions from the machine. Make sure no one is touching the victim when the shock is delivered.
When you open the cabinet door for the AED an alarm sounds. This is to help prevent theft and also alert people that help may be required.
This is a potentially life saving device and I would encourage people to have a look at it and to contact me if they have any questions.
Sincerely,
Ralph Suke

To all members: Please be advised that Josh Harlem our fuel dock attendant will be on vacation with his family July 27th through August 7th. During this period Rudy Hachey, Kurtis Mink and myself Harry Hartrick will try to man the fuel dock. I would ask anyone needing fuel to please take advantage prior to the 27th of July. The pump out will be available through out this period. Thank you to all members for your accommodation and understanding.

Hi Folks, as we enter stage three of this COVID thing your board of directors has decided to fully open up the patios (bbq’s included) and the upstairs of the clubhouse. The downstairs and kitchen will remain closed at this time while we renegotiate our cleaning contract.
Play safe friends!

Commodore Travis.
Dear GYC Members,
After a recent board discussion we will be leaving the tables down in the picnic shelter for members to use. Please remember to maintain physical distancing and not have gatherings of more than 10 people.
We will be bringing back the Porta Potty to the south basin.
Depending on the developments with Covid-19 we are hoping to plan a modified Sail Past on September 12th, 2020. More details to follow closer to the date.
New member applications are posted in the upper floor of the clubhouse next to the washrooms. Please make sure to review the applications before the individuals come before the board in September.
Stay safe,
Your Board of Directors
