Full Membership Applications

There are four pending applications for full membership (to the “B” list) in the club. Further to Article 2.2d) and e) of the club By-laws, Rules and Regulations, notice of an application is to be made on this website and the Clubhouse Bulletin Board for a minimum of 30 days. Members may communicate to the membership committee (membership@georgianyachtclub.com) or the Board prior to the September 9, 2019 Board meeting any relevant information a Member may possess regarding the applicant.

  1. Vesa Simanainen of Owen Sound, sponsored by Ann Hachey and Rob Allan.  30′ sloop named Gypsy Wind
  2. Frank Solinger of Owen Sound, sponsored by Mark Vincent and Dave Reitzel. 32′ Power Boat named Trinity
  3. Kimberlee Mink of Shallow Lake, sponsored by Curtis Mink and Steve Bowerman.  30 foot Doral – name pending.
  4. Edward (Ted) Noble of Owen Sound, sponsored by Tom England and Paul Beattie.  34′ power boat named Summer III

Peter Burrell of Tara, sponsored by Joyce Buckley and John Gilbert was approved as an associate member at the May 6, 2019 board meeting. Peter has a Grampian 26′ sailboat.
Gerald and Carol Overmars of Owen Sound, sponsored by Tom England and Joe Fryer, also approved as an associate member at the May 6, 2019 board meeting. Gerald and Carol have a 36′ sailboat.

Hazards to navigation – logs/deadheads

It has been brought to our attention that there have been a number of large logs (dead heads) found in the area.

Remember that logs can float both horizontally along the surface as well as vertically almost below the surface, and colliding with one of these can cause damage and/or injury.

Please keep a close watch out and travel at a safe speed.

Cory Coish of Owen Sound, sponsored by Joseph Fryer and Paul Livingston was approved by an associate member at the November 5, 2018 board meeting.  Cory has a Regal 28 (LOA – 31′) power boat.

Wayne Cowell of Owen sound, and sponsored by Mark Vincent and Murray Arnold, was approved as an Associate member at the February 4, 2019 Board meeting.  Wayne has a Hunter 22 sailboat.
